Default Sword Attack Speed Clarification Question:

Okay I did read the wonderful treatise on combat mechanics, and the base item properties chart. Printed em out too.

But I just want someone to clarify that all swords have the same refire rate of 1.33 seconds without any magical attack speed modifiers.... I thought a short sword would be faster than a longsword or two handed sword.

Bottom line, what is the absolute fastest sword *type* or is there such a thing? Is a butterfly sword -faster- than a short sword, a longsword, etc., or is it all a matter of skill, attribute, and magical modifiers and upgrades?

Thanks in advance.

im almost positive that it goes by type of weapon and no more specific (sword, axe, cane) which i agree is kinda wierd that i didnt expect that but it helps to simplify things
